Beijing Zoo

Beijing Zoo is home to over 450 species of land animals and over 500 species of marine life. It houses over 15,000 animals in total, which includes the famous and very popular Giant Pandas
 
The zoo was founded in 1906 and is one of the oldest zoos in China. Beijing Zoo is dedicated to ensuring the survival of China's rarest animals, including the South China Tiger and the Golden Snub Nosed Monkey.
 
As well as the zoo visitors have the option of seeing marine life at the Beijing Aquarium and the Beijing Planitarium, which is only across the street (note that the aquarium and planitarium are not part of the zoo's combined ticket)
 
How to get there:
 
Underground:
  • Take Underground Line 4 and get off at Dong Wu Yuan Station (exit A)
 
Opening Times:
 
April-October:
  •  Aquarium- 9:00am to 5:30pm
  • Zoo - 7:30am to 6:00pm
November - March
  • Aquarium - 10:00am to 4:30pm
  • Zoo - 7:30am to 5:30pm
