The Pearl Tower

Since 1995, The Oriental Pearl Tower has dominated the Shanghai Landscape with its unique design. Standing at 468 metres high, it is one of the world's largest radio and tv towers.

The tower has 15 spheres or pearls of varying sizes which give the impression of pearls falling onto a Jade plate (like a famous poem from the Tang Dynasty)

There is also a revolving restaurant in the centre and a hotel between the two largest pearls. Furthermore, in the base of the tower, there is the Shanghai Municipal History Museum

How to get there:
Underground:
  • Take Underground Line 2 to Lujiazui Station (exit 1).

Opening Times:
  • The tower is open from 8:00am-9:30pm
